Tutorials: Basics
Digital Workflow Tutorials
This is the first in a series of tutorials walking you through what's called a "digital workflow". This term basically just means the steps a photographer goes through after taking the picture through to the final printing. For professional photographers, every photo they take will go through multiple steps of "processing" before it's ready to be printed. While that isn't necessarily needed (or practical) for the average home photographer, for some special images it's worth taking some time to work on. These steps won't necessarily be the same for everyone. For example, if you shoot in JPEG format instead of RAW, the RAW Conversion portion of the Tutorial won't be important for you.
I recommend you first read the Camera Settings, File Types, and Color Management Tutorials. It will make it much easier to follow along.
I will be using Adobe Photoshop CS 2 for these tutorials. Earlier versions of Photoshop as well as Photoshop Elements have many of the same tools, so the concepts will still apply.
Additional Workflow tutorials will be added soon.
